Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

After your information is checked by our expert in research and data validation. We will search for your record in the correct archives and BMD index. We will then proceed to order your certificate in the correct registry office & government departments.

How long we retain your data

Before you can place an order for a certificate you will need to create an account on our system. We require an e-mail address which will also act as your username and will be used to verify your account, as well as a delivery address. The provision of any other information, such as your telephone number, is optional but it may assist us if we need to contact you about your order. We will use your information either to inform you that it has been received and is being processed, or that there is a problem. You may be contacted by e-mail, post, or by telephone, if you have provided a contact number.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Your payment details, e-mail and delivery address will be passed to myPOS & Citelis, so that the payment for your order may be taken. myPOS & Citelis provide this service for certificates.org.uk and are responsible for all credit/debit card transactions over a secure line. We generally keep personal data on our server or in our archives for as long as we reasonably need it. We may alter this practice according to changing requirements. We may keep other data for longer periods if the law requires it.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
